Holger Volland, VP Frankfurt Book Fair, is known for his expertise in bridging the gap between business and creative sectors. He will be in discussion with Alex Flowers (Team Leader, Digital Programmes, V&A) and Fiona Romeo (Consultant - previously with BBC, Disney, and MoMA) about their experiences and ideas around technology, creative content and business.

Why is it happening?

 

This informal evening event precedes THE ARTS - an interactive business festival run at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October 2017. It will focus on the future of the arts, cultural and creative industries. Exhibitors will be able to present new ways to design, utilise and showcase creative content and innovative ideas that extend the boundaries of traditional culture. Read more about it here.

 

YOUR SPEAKERS

 

Holger Volland

Holger is Vice President and member of the executive board of Frankfurter Book Fair. He is responsible for international business development and co-founded THE ARTS . Over the course of his career, Holger has become known as a bridge between business and creative sectors, and his expertise for developing digital business models have helped numerous companies and organizations.

 

Alex Flowers

Alex is Team Leader for Digital Programmes at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Embracing the ethos of the maker movement and open source, the Digital Programmes team engage people with emerging digital design processes and the collections of the museum. Before the V&A he worked as an educator, developing e-learning courses before moving into the cultural sector at Museum of London. Since then, he has worked for a variety of clients including the Crafts Council, Brighton Festival and is a visiting lecturer at Institute of Education, University College London.

 

Fiona Romeo

Fiona recently returned to London from New York, where she was the Director of Digital Content and Strategy at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). She is now working as a consultant in the cultural sector, specialising in the intersection of physical spaces and digital platforms. She is a member of the advisory board for Art UK. Previously, Fiona produced content and experiences for valued brands like the Royal Observatory, Science Museum, BBC, and Disney.
