About the Artist
Keren is a self-taught artist currently living and working in London. She has an academic background in law and art history and uses her multi-disciplinary set of skills to create and appreciate art.
By encompassing the abstract form, Keren intends to express what cannot be pictured. Her brushstrokes are not premeditated and are guided by the creative impulsion her emotions generate.
Trusting her connection with her paintings, Keren paints in layers often destroying what she had completed just moments before. She repeats this process as she believes the painting itself will guide her to the finished product.
Keren’s “puzzle” paintings intend to play with the form of canvas and invite the freedom of assemblage. These artworks provoke audiences to think "outside the box" and that there is more than one way to picture ideas, life and society.
Keren chooses to paint on the floor as it allows her to become part of her paintings when she shifts her positioning around her work. She utilises various mediums such as resin, enamels, acrylic, oil and such materials as broken glass, wax, plastic and tissue to produce the effects unique to her work. She uses sticks and knives as tools instead of her brush to enable her flow of paint.
