Vintage and LIBRARY are giving one lucky person the chance to win a full set of Philip Roth books in celebration of the release of American Pastoral. Just answer this question to be in with a chance of winning:
Philip Roth announced his retirement from literary life in 2012, having written 31 books over a period of 53 years. There is prize-winning fiction in his first novel Goodbye Columbus and many others besides, and groundbreaking non-fiction in Patrimony and The Facts. Vintage, his longstanding publisher in the UK, has given all 31 of them stunning new covers.
The reissues coincide with two major Philip Roth film adaptations. On 11 November, Ewan McGregor makes his directorial debut with the release of American Pastoral. The film stars Ewan McGregor as Seymour “Swede” Levov, a former high school star athlete and a successful Jewish American businessman, Jennifer Connelly as Dawn Dwyer Levov, a former beauty queen and wife of Seymour, and Dakota Fanning as Merry Levov, daughter of Seymour and Dawn, who commits an act of political terrorism at the age of 16.
Then on 18 November comes Indignation starring Logan Lerman as Marcus Messner, a studious, law-abiding student at Ohio’s Winesburg College, and Sarah Gadon as Olivia Hutton, the subject of Messner’s affections.
